As part of the Creative Ireland Programme, a new national day of culture and creativity will take place in ever county nationwide, on Easter Monday, April 17th 2017.

Cruinniú na Cásca, which directly translates as “a meeting at Easter’, will be an annual free festival which aims to celebrate culture and creativity in contemporary Irish society, with a special focus on events for families and children.

As part of this celebration, The Schoolhouse at Muckross Traditional Farms is the venue for an afternoon of musical celebration.
Cork musician Ger Woulfe will deliver music workshops for children working with a number of instruments as well as a family concert in the early evening. Time 2.00pm – 4.00pm

This will be followed by an evening concert by renowned musician Jimmy Crowley at 7.30pm.
Jimmy Crowley , musician since 1977, his band Stokers Lodge performed street ballads of ornate folk songs from rural Cork and Kerry in an exciting orchestration of uilleann pipes, concertina, autoharp, harmonium, mandolin, bouzouki and guitar in their native accent.
