Date/Time
Date(s) - 17/05/2014
1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Budding artists of all ages and skills are invited to participate in an artist led workshop.

Ronnie Moore, well known Killarney Watercolour Artist, will give a free talk and demonstration in the Schoolhouse at Muckross Traditional Farms on Saturday 17th May at 2.00 pm, as part of a nationwide series of events been held throughout Ireland to celebrate National Drawing Day 2014.

The talk will concentrate on the watercolour paintings of Mary Herbert, the 19th century artist and wife of Henry Arthur Herbert -responsible for building Muckross House which was completed in 1843.

Images of Mary Herbert’s watercolour paintings of Killarney will be on view on the day.                                           Also on view will be recent images of those very views, so well chosen by Mary Herbert so long ago and Ronnie will also demonstrate her own watercolour painting skills, using these same images.

In this climate of continuous change and technological development it is comforting to know that simple love of nature continues to calm and fascinate us. Ronnie’s soft, misty tones depicts the local landscape so well and her timeless classic style is relaxing and a joy to observe.                                                                                         Surrounded by lakes, waterfalls, rivers and ‘occasional rainfall’ it is no wonder that watercolour is the soul of the Killarney artist.

Ronnie intends that the demonstration will be interactive and welcomes questions and requests to demonstrate specific techniques.

A series of watercolour classes by Ronnie Moore  are planned to be held in The Schoolhouse over the Summer months.                                   Anyone who is interested may contact Ronnie at rgmoore1@eircom.net for details.
